Canyon Vista Medical Center (CVMC) proudly announces the outstanding achievement of our Internal Medicine residents in the American College of Physicians (ACP) Doctors’ Dilemma competition. Our resident team secured victories in both the preliminary and final rounds, defeating Honor Health, UA Phoenix, Dignity Health, UA Tucson, and Verde Valley, and earning the honor to represent Arizona in the upcoming National ACP Conference.
The team members—Dr. Baha Faiyoumi, Dr. Rusudan Tchighvaria, Dr. Aya Almufleh, and Dr. Sami Aqqad—demonstrated exceptional knowledge and teamwork to emerge victorious among esteemed institutions, including Mayo Clinic, Abrazo, and other Arizona healthcare systems.
“We are incredibly proud of our residents for their commitment to excellence and their representation of Canyon Vista Medical Center at such a prestigious level,” said Dr. Emad Hammode, Internal Medicine Residency Program Director at CVMC. “Their hard work and dedication exemplify the quality of our residency program and our commitment to training outstanding physicians.”
CVMC also extends special recognition to our support team—Dr. Hashim Khan, Dr. Justin Arnold and Dr. Mohamad Diab, as well as Chief Residents Dr. Zain Ahsan, Dr. Slavko Aleksis and Dr. Thanh Nguyen—for their invaluable contributions in helping our residents prepare for the competition. Their guidance and encouragement were instrumental to the team’s success.
Join us in congratulating our team as they head to the National ACP Conference to compete on behalf of Arizona, showcasing the strength of our Internal Medicine program and the dedicated talent within our community.
